Ayala Corp, Signs MOU to Join Digital Pilipinas Festival

Ayala to Participate in Digital Pilipinas Festival towards a More Digitally Empowered Philippines

Digital Pilipinas has gained another partner in Ayala Corporation, along with all of the companies that form the highly diversified conglomerate.  The union was formalized with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing by Vince Tobias, the Head of Innovation of Ayala Corp, and Amor Maclang, Convenor of Digital Pilipinas on October 6th, at Ayala’s Headquarters in Makati. Digital Pilipinas is the largest private sector led movement for creating an innovation and technology ecosystem in the country that is actively engaged in a global digital economy through its domestic and international trajectories.

”We see Digital Pilipinas as a catalyst towards a future in which we have consumers and citizens who are more digitally savvy and that means taking out so much of the friction of day-to-day life. Whether you’re going to school, going to work.” shared Tobias at the MOU signing. He also shared what he believes the picture of success will look like: “Productivity, I think will really be boosted by digitalization and AI, productivity per citizen, measurable in terms of GDP per capita.”

Digital Pilipinas convenor Amor Maclang put it this way,

“Digital Pilipinas aims to empower every Filipino through technology that integrates seamlessly into their everyday lives, boosting their productivity, global competitiveness, their income, and ultimately their quality of life.”

The upcoming Digital Pilipinas Festival is set to be a landmark event. The festival, which will run from November 20-24 at the SMX Aura Convention Center in Taguig City, Philippines, and various other innovation hubs nationally, coincides with the Singapore Fintech Festival and Philippine Startup Week. With this move Ayala Corp. hopes to encourage and stimulate greater mass adoption of digital innovation among Filipinos, and across industries, Ayala Corporation, has officially partnered with Digital Pilipinas as a collaborator at the upcoming Digital Pilipinas Festival which happens in the latter part of November this year. This collaboration means that Ayala companies such as Globe Telecom, Bank of the Philippine Islands, AyalaLand, and Manila Water will actively participate in this year’s Digital Pilipinas Festival, underscoring Ayala Corp’s championing of cross-industry innovation. These companies, with their varied operations spanning banking, telecommunications, large-scale real estate development, and utilities, will both contribute to and gain from this alliance.
